The philosophy of The Matrix

In the movie The Matrix, the world we are living in is not real, with most of us being unaware of it and therefore tricked into an illusion of reality, which raises a number of philosophical questions. This (German) speech, which was part of my term project in Philosophy in the summer semester of 2004, explains the philosophy of The Matrix using the ideas behind rationalism, empiricism and Plato’s Cave Analogy.
